Whether you're planning your own event or shopping for someone else's, our registry makes it easy. Respond to your wedding invitation, do your gift shopping, and give the perfect gift all at the same time with our online registry and RSVP tracking system. Just follow the guidelines below to simplify your event.
How to Create a Personal Gift Registry
Every Avant Guarde Mall registered customer can create a gift registry. Log in and look on the “Your cart” menu on the top right side of the screen for the Gift Registry link.
Step 1: Create an event.
Click the Gift Registry link on the “Your cart” menu then click on New Event in the Events List. Fill in the status, event date, title, and description fields. An event can have a status of public or private. For private events, only Avant Guarde Mall registered users whose e-mail addresses were entered in the recipients list of the event can see and buy products from the event wish list. For public events, all registered visitors can see and buy products from the event wish list. The description field provides detailed information about the event to your gift registry visitors. Status, title and event date are required fields; description is optional. When all necessary fields have been entered, click “create”; a new event will be added to your event list.
Step 2: Add products to your event wish list.
You can add products and Gift Certificates to an events wish list only through your main wish list. First add the product to your wish list using the “Add to wish list” button. Then you will see “Move to the wish list for other event” displayed. You will be able to select another wish list to receive all or part of the product quantity just added to your main wish list.
The functionality of an event wish list is the same as that of the main wish list. You can
add a product to your shopping cart
delete a product from the wish list
change the amount of product items
see detailed information about a product
As products on the event wish list are purchased, the list is automatically updated.
Step 3: Define the e-mail recipients list; the list of users to be notified about your registry. (optional step for public registries)
The recipients list contains information about users who will be notified about your gift registry. Also, for private registries, only users on the recipients list will be allowed to view and purchase products on the event wish list. For each email recipient add their name and email address then click the update button to add them to the list.
To avoid spam, each recipient must confirm their participation in the gift registry. To do this, mark the checkbox opposite the recipient(s). Click “Send confirmation request” to confirm the recipients’ participation. A notification is sent which contains the offer to confirm or cancel participation in the recipient list. After the recipient chooses, his or her participation will either be cancelled or confirmed. The status and date will appear in the status field of the recipients list.
Step 4: Send out email notifications about your event and gift registry. (optional step)
To successfully send a notification there must be at least one recipient in the recipient list who confirmed his/her participation. A default HTML notification message is automatically generated which lists the current products in your gift registry and provides links back to our website.. On the email notification page you can edit the text message of this notification, change the subject of the email and select how the email should be sent (HTML or plain text). You can completely delete the generated message data and input information for a new message. You can periodically send out additional notifications to update registry participants about your event wish list. It is highly recommended that you preview your text message before sending by clicking “preview”.
How to use the Guestbook
Recipients can leave messages and comments regarding the event in the Guestbook. All participants in your registry can view the entire Guestbook. The creator of the gift registry can also post messages for all the participating recipients. This is a wonderful way for recipients to RSVP to your event or ask questions about products in your event wish list. Messages are displayed in reverse chronological order.
How to find a Registry
All site visitors can search for and look through the events that have “public” status and buy products included in their event wish lists. In order to purchase products all visitors must register. To search for registries with “public” status use the “Search for Gift Registry” link on the Specials menu on the left side of the screen.
Only registered users whose emails are included in the recipients list for a private event can look at the information for that event or purchase products on the event wish list.
